Acts 7:26 – význam

Acts 7:26 2026-10-24

Druhého pak dne ukázal se jim, když se vadili, i vedl je ku pokoji, řka: Muži bratří jste, i proč křivdu činíte sobě vespolek?

Co to znamená

Stefan tells of Moses, who on the day after rescuing an Israelite from abuse, comes upon two Hebrews fighting. He doesn't take sides or simply punish; he steps in as a peacemaker, pleading with them to stop. He reminds them they are brothers and asks the painful question: why are you wronging each other? The scene shows that the people who should be closest are often the ones who hurt each other most, and that a single calm voice trying to restore peace can matter even when it is not welcomed.

Pro dnešek

Most of us know this from families, workplaces, and friend groups where old grudges flare over money, inheritance, or who did the dishes. Online, the same thing happens in comment threads where people who share a faith, a neighbourhood, or a village turn on each other over small differences. The verse asks what it would look like to stop and ask the simple question, not to win the argument but to remember that the other person is still your brother or sister. It is also honest that such a plea often fails: in the story, one of the men pushes Moses away, so peacemaking carries a real cost.

K zapamatování

Dnes se zeptej sám sebe, komu ubližuješ z vlastní vůle, a zkus si vzpomenout, že ten člověk je ve skutečnosti tvůj bratr nebo tvá sestra.
