Psalms 123:3 – znaczenie

Psalms 123:3 2026-10-14

Zmiłuj się nad nami, Panie; zmiłuj się nad nami, bo jesteśmy nad miarę nasyceni wzgardą.

Co to znaczy

Psalm 123 is a short prayer from people who have been looked down on and mocked for a long time, most likely by those who are comfortable and secure. In verse 3 they cry out for mercy, repeating the plea because the weight of the scorn has become heavy. They are not asking for revenge, only for relief and for their dignity to be seen by God.

Na dziś

Many people today know this kind of contempt: a boss who belittles you in meetings, a comment thread full of strangers mocking your appearance or your opinions, a family member who never takes your work seriously, or the quiet sense that people with money and status look through you. What makes it wear you down is repetition, not one hurtful moment. The psalm gives words to that exhaustion and admits it openly, without pretending that enduring it is easy or that you should simply smile through it.

Do zapamiętania

Being honest with God, or with yourself, about how much you have already put up with is not weakness, and it is a good place to start asking for help.
