Psalms 123:3 – značenje
Psalms 123:3 2026-10-14
Smiluj nam se, Jahve, smiluj se nama jer se do grla nasitismo prezira.
Što znači
Psalm 123 is a plea from people who have been looked down on for a long time. Verse 3 is short and direct: they ask for mercy twice, and they say why. They have been treated with contempt, scorn, for far too long. It is not a complaint about one bad day but an honest description of ongoing humiliation, and the request is simply to be shown kindness and to be seen as worth respecting.
Za danas
Many people today know this feeling, even if they would never use such an old word. A worker who is talked down to by a manager, a student mocked in a group chat, someone whose accent, religion or background makes others smirk, or a person whose online posts are met with cruel comments day after day. Contempt often arrives in small, repeated doses rather than one dramatic insult, and it wears a person down. The verse gives words to the moment when a person is too tired to fight back and just asks for basic decency.
Za ponijeti
Ako si danas ti taj koji je dugo trpio preziranje, dopusti sebi da to priznaš, a ako si ti taj koji ga pruža, zapitaj se hoće li tvoja riječ nekoga podići ili slomiti.
