Matthew 25:38 jelentése
Matthew 25:38 2026-10-10
És mikor láttuk, hogy jövevény voltál, és befogadtunk volna? vagy mezítelen voltál, és felruháztunk volna?
Mit jelent
Matthew 25:38 is part of Jesus's parable of the sheep and the goats. The righteous people are surprised: they ask when they ever saw him as a stranger or naked and helped him. The question shows they did not do these acts for recognition or reward; they simply helped people in need, and in doing so, Jesus says, they served him. The verse is about ordinary, practical kindness: opening your home to someone without a place, and giving clothes to someone who lacks them.
Mára
Today the 'stranger' might be a refugee family in a Hungarian town, a foreign student who has nobody in the city, or a coworker who has just moved to Budapest and eats lunch alone. The 'naked' might be someone who needs a warm coat in winter, a child whose school clothes no longer fit, or a person who lost everything in a flood or fire. Many people feel the pull of helping but also worry about strangers, money, or doing it wrong. The verse does not demand grand gestures; it points at the small, specific choices: a spare bed, a bag of winter clothes donated to a local charity, a moment of welcome at the door. It also asks us to notice who is actually on the margins of our own neighborhood, not only people far away on the news.
Tanulság
Today, think of one concrete person near you who is on the edge of things, and ask yourself what small, practical help you could offer without needing anyone to notice.
