Matthew 25:38 – merkitys
Matthew 25:38 2026-10-10
Ja milloin me näimme sinut outona ja otimme sinut huoneeseemme, tai alastonna ja vaatetimme sinut?
Mitä se tarkoittaa
Matthew 25:38 is part of Jesus's parable of the sheep and the goats, where the righteous ask the king when they ever saw him as a stranger and welcomed him or saw him naked and clothed him. The question is sincere: they did not recognize him in those people. The point is that care given to people in need is care given to Jesus himself, and the verse shows that people often do good without realizing its larger meaning.
Tälle päivälle
Today the strangers are often people who arrive in Finland as refugees or workers and struggle with language, housing, and loneliness, or the homeless person near the railway station whom many of us walk past while checking our phones. Being 'naked' now can mean lacking warm clothes or basic dignity, something a neighbor or a volunteer clothing collection can address. The verse also raises an honest question: do we notice these people only when it is convenient, or do we let busy schedules and fear of the unfamiliar keep us from helping?
