Matthew 25:38 – význam
Matthew 25:38 2026-10-10
Aneb kdy jsme tě viděli hostě, a přijali jsme, neb nahého, a přioděli jsme?
Co to znamená
Matthew 25:38 is spoken by the righteous in the parable of the sheep and goats. They ask the King when they ever saw him as a stranger and welcomed him, or naked and clothed him. They are genuinely puzzled, because they never remember meeting him. The point of the question is that caring for the most vulnerable people is the same as caring for the one in need, even when the helper did not know who they were helping.
Pro dnešek
Today many of us meet strangers mostly through screens: a refugee family in a news story, a homeless man at a metro station we walk past while on our phone, a neighbour we have never spoken to. The verse asks whether we notice the person in front of us at all. Helping can be small and unglamorous, like giving a warm coat to someone sleeping in the cold, offering a ride to a new coworker who has no one in town, or simply not looking away. It also quietly challenges the habit of helping only when we can see credit or results.
K zapamatování
Dnes se zamyslete nad tím, kdo je pro vás téměř neviditelný, a zkuste mu dnes udělat jednu malou laskavost, aniž byste čekali uznání.
