Psalms 95:4 – betydelse

Psalms 95:4 2026-11-04

Han har jordens djup i sin hand, och bergens höjder äro hans;

Vad det betyder

Psalm 95:4 says that the deepest places of the earth and the highest mountain peaks are both held in God's hand. Nothing is too remote, too hidden, or too vast to fall outside his care and authority. The image is of a creator who holds the whole physical world, from the ocean floor to the summits, as something that belongs to him.

För idag

Today we know the deep places of the earth in ways earlier generations could not: we have mapped the ocean trenches and drilled into the crust, and we have climbed or flown over every major peak. Yet a lot of us still feel small and unmoored, scrolling through news of wars and climate disasters that seem far beyond our control. The verse offers a different angle for that feeling. It does not ask you to understand everything or control everything; it says the largest and most remote things are not loose and unheld. For someone sitting at a kitchen table in Göteborg at midnight, worried about a job or a diagnosis, that can be a quiet kind of relief, even if you are not sure you believe it.
