Isaiah 1:26 – betydelse
Isaiah 1:26 2026-10-16
Jag vill åter giva dig sådana domare som tillförne, och sådana rådsherrar som du förut ägde. Därefter skall du kallas »rättfärdighetens stad», »en trogen stad».
Vad det betyder
Isaiah 1:26 is a promise spoken to Jerusalem after a period of corruption and collapse. God says He will bring back the judges and counselors the city once had in its earlier, better days, so that justice and good leadership are restored. Afterward the city will be known as a place of righteousness and faithfulness. The verse looks ahead to a renewal in which the city's character matches its name, and it grows out of a broader prophetic message that rebuilding comes through justice rather than through ritual alone.
För idag
Many people today have lost trust in the institutions meant to be fair: courts that feel slow or biased, authorities that seem more concerned with themselves, workplaces where the rules bend for some and not others. The verse speaks to that disappointment without pretending it is simple. It suggests that a community's reputation is rebuilt slowly, by people in responsible roles acting with integrity over time, not by slogans. It also invites ordinary people to ask what their own small roles look like, whether as a teacher, a manager, a neighbor, or someone who posts online and decides what to amplify.
Att ta med sig
Renewal of a place or a community tends to start with honest people doing their ordinary work faithfully, and that is a hope worth carrying into the day.
