Isaiah 1:26 – betydning
Isaiah 1:26 2026-10-16
Jeg giver dig Dommere som fordum, Raadsherrer som før; saa kaldes du Retfærdigheds By, den trofaste Stad.«
Hvad det betyder
Isaiah 1:26 is a promise of renewal after a time of corruption. The prophet describes a Jerusalem whose leaders have failed, and he says God will bring back the kind of judges and advisers it had in its earlier, better days. Then the city will be known again as a place of righteousness and faithfulness, not just in name but in how it actually treats people.
Til i dag
Many of us have watched institutions we trusted lose their integrity, whether a workplace where the bosses stopped listening, a local government that seems to serve only its friends, or a family or community where trust has frayed. The verse doesn't pretend that repair is quick or automatic. It describes a return to honest leadership and fair counsel, and a city that earns its reputation over time. That idea is useful in Denmark right now, where people often judge public trust by daily experiences like whether the kommune answers an email or whether a company keeps its word, rather than by grand declarations.
Til at tage med
Trust and fairness usually come back slowly, through ordinary people choosing to act honestly again, and that is worth remembering when you feel let down by the institutions around you.
