Isaiah 1:26: ερμηνεία
Isaiah 1:26 2026-10-16
Isaiah 1:26 is a promise of restoration after a time of corruption. The prophet says that God will bring back the honest judges and wise advisors that the city once had, the way they were in its earliest days. After that, the city will be renamed: it will be known as a city of righteousness and a faithful town, meaning a place where justice is done and people can be trusted. The verse looks back to a golden age and promises that it will return, with the city's identity changed by fair leadership.
Για σήμερα
Many people today feel that the institutions meant to be fair, like courts, city councils, schools, and workplaces, have become tired, self-serving, or hard to trust. Think of a neighborhood whose local government has lost the public's confidence, or a company where promotions depend on who you know rather than what you do. The verse speaks to the longing for leaders who act with integrity again, and for a community whose reputation is earned through honest dealings. It doesn't promise that this happens quickly or by itself. It names a hope that justice can be rebuilt, and it reminds us that a city's character is shaped by the people who lead it and by the people who expect fairness from them.

Trust in a community is rebuilt slowly, one honest decision at a time, and each of us can be part of that repair.
