Job 5:19 – reikšmė

Job 5:19 2026-10-28

Jis išgelbės tave iš šešių nelaimių, o septintoje pikta nepalies tavęs.

Ką tai reiškia

Job 5:19 comes from Eliphaz, one of Job's friends, who is urging Job to turn to God. The verse is a numerical saying: 'six troubles, yes seven' is a poetic way of saying that trouble will come again and again, but that God will bring the person through it, so that no evil ultimately gets the final word. Eliphaz speaks with confidence that is partly sincere and partly wrong. The book of Job itself tests this view, because Job suffers far beyond what his friends' tidy theology can explain, so the verse is best read as one voice in a larger argument rather than as a guarantee.

Šiandienai

Many people today live in a rolling series of difficulties: a job loss, a hard diagnosis, a broken relationship, money trouble, a child struggling at school, then another crisis before the last one has settled. Reading this verse can feel like being handed a promise that the hard things will end, or that nothing truly harmful will reach you. That can comfort someone who is exhausted, but it can also sound hollow to someone who has been hurt badly and still is. The honest way to hold it is as hope that trouble does not define the whole story, paired with the recognition that the book it comes from refuses to pretend suffering is always neatly explained.

Įsidėmėti

Trouble may come more than once, and you do not have to pretend it does not hurt, but you can ask whether you are carrying it alone or whether there is someone, or something larger, you can lean on today.
