Isaiah 40:2 – znaczenie

Isaiah 40:2 2026-10-15

Isaiah 40:2 is a message of consolation addressed to Jerusalem, which had endured a long period of hardship and exile for its failures. The speaker tells the messengers to speak tenderly and proclaim that her time of forced service is over, that her guilt has been forgiven, and that she has already received from the LORD's hand a punishment that counts as enough, even 'double' for all her sins. The point is not that the suffering was unjust, but that it has reached its end and the relationship can be restored.

Na dziś

Many people carry a sense that they have paid enough for a mistake, yet still feel they are serving a sentence long after it should have ended: a failed business that haunts someone for years, a broken marriage or a job loss that keeps being brought up, or a family conflict where every old error is replayed in group chats and comments. This verse speaks to that exhaustion. It does not pretend the hurt didn't happen, but it names a point where the debt is closed and a person may stop living as if they are still under the sentence. For someone burned out by constant self-criticism, it offers permission to let the account be settled.

Do zapamiętania
