Isaiah 40:2 – značenje
Isaiah 40:2 2026-10-15
Isaiah 40:2 is a message of consolation to Jerusalem, spoken as if to a people who have suffered for a long time. The prophet is told to speak tenderly and to announce that the hard period of her 'warfare' (her time of hardship and servitude) is over, that her guilt has been pardoned, and that she has already received from God's hand a punishment 'double' to all her sins. The point is not that suffering was excessive, but that the debt is paid and a new chapter can begin.
Za danas
Many people today carry a long stretch of struggle: a bad debt that keeps following them, years of burnout at a job that never let up, or a mistake that gets replayed every time they scroll past an old post or a former friend's life. This verse speaks to the feeling that you are still being punished long after the thing is over. It invites you to notice when you are still living as if the sentence continues, and to ask whether the account has truly been settled, even if forgiveness has not yet been felt in your own heart.
