1 Corinthians 9:14 – značenje

1 Corinthians 9:14 2026-10-19

Tako je i Gospodin onima koji evanđelje navješćuju odredio od evanđelja živjeti.

Što znači

Paul is arguing that people who preach the gospel have a right to be supported by those they serve, so they can live from their work rather than being forced to earn a separate living while they teach. He points to a principle the Lord set: those who spread the Good News should receive their livelihood from it. In context, Paul himself chose not to take money from the Corinthians, so this is a principle he affirms while deliberately not using it for himself.

Za danas

Today this touches a real and uncomfortable question: who pays people who do meaningful, community-serving work, and on what terms? A pastor in a small parish in Slavonia or a volunteer leader in a Zagreb congregation often juggles the calling with a second job, and many feel guilty asking for support. The verse also raises a wider point about any work that serves others, from teachers and social workers to artists and nonprofit staff: when people give their lives to something valuable, it's fair that they can actually pay rent and eat. It is also a reminder to check whether we are quietly expecting someone's calling to be done for free.

Dobar rad zaslužuje da se od njega može pristojno živjeti, pa vrijedi zapitati se pomažem li ja tomu da se to dogodi.
