Psalms 126:6 – merkitys

Psalms 126:6 2026-10-23

He menevät itkien, kun kylvösiemenen vievät; he palajavat riemuiten, kun lyhteensä tuovat.

Mitä se tarkoittaa

Psalm 126:6 uses the image of a farmer. He goes out to sow seed while crying, because the seed is precious and the harvest is uncertain, maybe even a loss he cannot yet see the end of. But the verse promises that he will come back home with joy, carrying the bundled grain he has harvested. The point is that sorrow and labor at the start do not have the last word. The verse does not promise that the pain disappears or that the outcome is guaranteed in every case, but it holds that real work done in tears can still end in gladness.

Tälle päivälle

Many people today know this kind of sowing. Someone spends years on a degree, a small business, or a difficult relationship that asks more than it gives back, and the nights are full of doubt. Or a parent keeps showing up for a child going through a hard stretch, with no visible progress for months. Social media makes it easy to compare your early, messy effort with other people's polished results, which can make the tears feel like proof of failure. This verse offers a more honest frame: crying while you work is not a sign that you are doing it wrong. It is part of the sowing, and the harvest may come slower or in a different form than you hoped, but it is not imagined.

Tänään voit ehkä ajatella, että vaikea ja surullinen työ, jonka teet nyt, ei ole turhaa, vaikka se ei vielä tunnu tuottavan mitään.
