Proverbs 28:23: semnificație

Proverbs 28:23 2026-10-29

Proverbs 28:23 says that a person who honestly corrects someone will, in the end, gain more goodwill than someone who only offers smooth, flattering words. The point is about long-term trust: flattery feels good in the moment but doesn't build real respect, while a frank correction may sting first and then be recognized as an act of care.

Pentru azi

Think of a colleague who sends you a draft with a blunt note that your figures don't add up, versus a manager who praises everything and lets the mistake reach the client. Online, likes and compliments are cheap and constant, yet people rarely trust the friend who only tells them what they want to hear. Honest feedback is uncomfortable to give and to receive, and many of us avoid it to keep things pleasant, which can cost relationships more over time. The verse doesn't say harshness is good; it asks for correction that is truthful and genuinely meant for the other person's good.
