Proverbs 15:17 – význam

Proverbs 15:17 2026-10-20

Lepší jest krmě z zelí, kdež jest láska, nežli z krmného vola, kdež jest nenávist.

Co to znamená

Proverbs 15:17 compares two meals. A simple dish of herbs eaten where people love one another is better than a rich, celebratory feast of fattened livestock shared in an atmosphere of hostility. The point is that the quality of relationships matters far more than the quality of the food or the abundance on the table.

Pro dnešek

Many of us know the situation: a fancy dinner at a restaurant where two people sit in silence, scrolling their phones, or a family Christmas with expensive food and sharp words under the surface. Meanwhile a simple supper of bread, potatoes and a little salad at a kitchen table, with someone who genuinely listens, can leave us full in a way money cannot buy. The verse also gently challenges the habit of trying to fix loneliness or tension with more purchases, more stuff, or more impressive experiences. It does not romanticize poverty; it simply says that warmth between people is the richer thing.

K zapamatování

Dnes se můžeme zeptat, jestli u našeho stolu opravdu je láska, nebo jen dobré jídlo.
