Philippians 3:3 – Bedeutung
Philippians 3:3 2026-11-05
Denn wir sind die Beschneidung, die wir Gott im Geiste dienen und uns in Christus Jesus rühmen und nicht auf Fleisch vertrauen,
Was es bedeutet
Paul writes to the church in Philippi and redefines who the true people of God are. He says that the real 'circumcision' are those who serve God by the Spirit, not by outward rituals or ancestry. Their boast is Christ Jesus, not their own religious credentials, heritage, or achievements, which Paul calls 'the flesh'. In short: identity and worth come from relationship with God, not from what you can display or prove about yourself.
Für heute
Many of us still build our sense of worth on visible things: job title, follower count, the right school, a tidy body, a busy calendar that proves we matter. Social media turns this into a constant comparison, and burnout often follows when the performance never feels like enough. Paul's words invite a quieter question: what do I actually rely on when the credentials fall away, after a layoff, a breakup, or a bad week online? It is not an easy shift, and it does not mean dismissing your skills or your background, but it asks where you place your confidence.
Zum Mitnehmen
Today, notice one place where you are trying to prove your worth, and ask what it would feel like to rest in something that does not need to be earned.
