Proverbs 27:7 jelentése
Proverbs 27:7 2026-10-21
A person who is already full turns away even from something sweet and good, like honeycomb, while someone who is starving will eat anything, even something bitter, and find it sweet. The proverb is about how our state of need or satisfaction shapes what we value: abundance can make the best things feel dull, and deprivation can make ordinary or harsh things feel welcome.
Mára
Many of us live surrounded by plenty: endless streams of content, full fridges, a phone that always has something new. In that fullness, even good things, a quiet evening, a real conversation, a simple meal, can feel flat, so we keep reaching for more stimulation. The opposite is also true: someone lonely, underpaid, or exhausted may cling to a bitter relationship or a draining job simply because it offers some sweetness, even if it harms them. The verse invites an honest look at what we are hungry for and whether our appetite is leading us toward or away from what actually nourishes us.
