2 Thessalonians 1:2: ερμηνεία

2 Thessalonians 1:2 2026-10-18

χάρις είη υμίν και ειρήνη από Θεού Πατρός ημών και Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού.

Τι σημαίνει

Paul opens his letter with a greeting that wishes the Thessalonian believers grace (undeserved favor and kindness) and peace (wholeness, calm, right relationship) from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a blessing more than a claim: he is asking that these gifts settle into their lives, not just reporting that they exist.

Για σήμερα

Many of us read a greeting like this as a formality, the way we type 'best regards' at the end of an email. Yet 'peace' and 'grace' name things people quietly crave now: a mind that stops racing at 2 a.m., a relationship where you do not have to earn every kindness, a group chat that does not leave you feeling judged. The verse is also honest that these are gifts offered, not a performance you must finish before receiving them.

Today, consider which one, grace or peace, you most need to receive from someone else rather than produce on your own.
